Disney Day 10!

Today we started off by going shopping at Target..AGAIN.
Man you would think we have never been to a big box discount department store hey!
Anyways it paid off in cheap clothes!
We made a second stop at The Gap outlet as they had rocking cheap t-shirts in yummy colors and I wanted to stock up.
Afterwards we headed to DownTown Disney and made our first stop at The Pearl Factory.
My mom *loves* pearls and I really wanted to get her one. K was instructed to pick the ugliest, hairest oyster he could find in the barrel. They ring a big bell when the shell is being opened..fun!
The clerk opened it up and dug out the pearl!
She cleaned it up, measured it and estimated it's value..about 110.00 dollars! Cool hey!
We had it placed in a gold setting for my Mom and gave it to her when we got home..she *loves* it and wears it everyday. I
t is just perfect for her!
So we wandered around DTD and hit the shops..K bought 2 pounds of Jelly Belly's..which he ate in less than a week-piggy! Picked up a couple of souviners and hit the road.

We went to Epcot, road Spaceship Earth..the end is cool..neat to see the map with everyone on it. Not many people from our neck of the woods..lol!More topiaries... And that is IT for pics from today, my battery dies (gasp) in the camera..sigh.
So we did go to Le Cellier, this is a must do for K..he loves the Canadian Pavillion and their resturant. He likes that everyone working there is from Canada and had a nice chat with one of the employees about how he should consider coming down to work for a year, would be a great experience for someone his age! So back to Le Cellier..this is the place for STEAK! It was delish..so yummy. Eveyrone who works there wears a name tag that states where they are from in Canada. Our waiter was shocked we knew how to pronounce Sault St. Marie!!! Guess we have an advantage over most of the guests..lol! Dale had a Kansas sized steak..it was freaking enormous! I ingulged in another *magical cocktail*..yum!
We stuck around to watch Illuminations afterwards, this is my favorite nighttime show..it is touching really!
We joined the masses and headed back to our resort, time to pack as we are moving to a new resort in the morning!

Disney Day 9!

So Hollywood Studio's is on our list for today, we ended up spending nearly the whole day there. Strange for us as we are park hoppers.
We did a few rides then had lunch at the Prime Time Cafe. What a hoot this place is, it is like you have stepped back in time and landed up in your Grandma's kitchen. The servers are in character-treat you just like your Mom would at the table-so you better behave! Food was just good home cookin' sort of stuff. Awesome milkshakes :-) The tv by the table works, watched some old time tv!We naturally hit Tower of Terror..AGAIN! We ride this..alot! K loves this ride..he just gets right into it, makes a big production about holding on and freaking out..I LOVE IT!Visited this attraction for the first time, we found it very interesting-especially since we had done the Keys to the Kingdom tour a few days earlier. Basically it is all about Walt and how he had this dream and made it reality despite all the nay sayers. We did the Backlot Tour as we had skipped it the past couple of years. I won't bother posting pics..kind of like you have to be there to "get" them. We skipped the stunt show..it was HOT (lol) and we didn't feel like waiting for it to start and climbing all those stairs. So we went to my FAVORITE attraction..well one of them...the Muppets! Really..it is all about the 3D glasses for me..lol! The themings is full of cuteness--see the pics below. It took a couple of tries but we finally got into the Great Movie Ride. A little bit of a blast from the past when it comes to the movies. The theater is a cool replica of the one in Hollywood. The guys HAD to do Star Tours. We hit warp speed and did a fly by on the death star. Cool attraction. Makes my stomach turn, but I took one for the team :-)
We did spend some time in this gift shop..tons of StarWars merchandise..light sabers..
nuff said...

This show is great, what a production they put on! We have seen it so many times now but you notice something different each time right, so we keep going back. Plus there is fighting and explosions..guys like it :-)

So no more pics for today, we had supper over at the Sci-Fi drive in..just to dark to pics at the drive in eh :-) Can't say were all that impressed with the selection there, I think they have changed the menu or something. The old movies suck us in though, enjoy that.

And it is starting to dawn on us that the clock is ticking and we have to go home in a few days. We are mortified to see that the weather has been rainy/snowy back home-last time I had checked it WAS MAY!

Disney Day 8!

So we started off the second week of our vacation by sleeping in..then headed over to Typhoon Lagoon for some waterpark FUN!Above is a wee sneek peek of the huge wave pool. This sucker scares me..I did a couple waves then moved to the shallow area while Dale and K attempted to body surf out in the deep area. We spent ALOT of time in the wave pool! We did some of the slides, these suckers are fast, the guys loved them! They headed back to the wave pool and I made my way over to the lazy river for a couple of leisurely trips around the water park..ahhh..paradise :-)We headed to Downtown Disney for our supper. K was pretty insistant that we have a meal at Planet Hollywood. I don't think we have ever been to Florida and NOT eaten there. Anyhoo the food was great & the key lime pie was to die for, it was fun to check out all the memorbilia that covers the place inside.Ohh and they played alot of way cool video's & tunes..we loved that.
And here is the new balloon attraction at DTD..we tried SO MANY TIMES to ride this thing. It takes you up 400 feet..so you get a great view. However every single time we went by it was down due to the wind...sigh. Something to do next time I guess.

Hey Noah...these are for YOU!

I hear your collecting drink tabs..
We happen to have a "few" lying around...
And guess what..they are all YOURS!
~Enjoy~

Disney Day 7

The first half of our day does not exsist in photo's as we shopped..and shopped..and shopped some more! We hit Target and then the outlet shop's, scored a few good deals on clothes, souviners etc. It was a nice change of pace I think, we lazed around a bit then headed over to Epcot for the evening.K is being his charming self in this photo.More topiaries..recognize these guys?
Of course you do. Looks like the couple in the photo below eh? lol!So Test Track was a must do..we love zipping around in the car!Can you see the hidden Mickey in the photo above?
We love hunting for them when waiting in line etc. This is in the que for Test Track. We did Mission Space a couple times today..the intense version! It just makes you feel like you are flying..very cool..and the guys get right into it let me tell. Put them in front of buttons & switches and they are happy campers!Figmet had no line so we did, big cuteness factor here if you ask me.Nemo..ohh Nemo..adorable even if you don't have little kids with you. I mean who doesn't want to ride in a clam shell! The aquarium in this place is huge..the big ball in the first photo of this post would FIT in this aquarium, so yep-large it is! Anyhooo..the dolphins were swimming around and then they noticed us..this guy was just hovering by us..went right up to K's hand, how awesome of a moment! I was so excited I could not get a clear shot!We had dinner at the Coral Reef and OMG it was the BEST meal we had. Dale had salmon and I had grilled Mahi Mahi, K had the steak. Everything was just so delish, every single bite! Oh and I discovered the Magical Cocktails here..they are made with passion fruit and come with a glow cube, come on-who can resist a glow cube..lol!This was the view from our table in the Coral Reef, it surrounds a portion of that huge aquarium, it is very dim and relaxing, a fabulous place-we will be back :-)

TOMS Shoes...

TOMS Shoes..have you heard of them?
They have the ONE for ONE campaign..for every pair of shoes bought they donate a pair to a child in need.
You can read all about it on the website.
Or maybe you have seen the commercial??
I think it is a fabulous example of someone seeing a need, filling it and creating a business for himself.
Oh and it doesn't hurt that they are so damn cute!
I mean come on..I could just kick around in these! They have a ton of cute fabrics..and if you have little ones be prepared to want them-adorable!
I want these orange plaid ones..saving up my pennies..I want to find them next time I am in the USA..just can't buy shoes online-I need to try them on!

The Tallest Poppy

My Mom and I had lunch HERE today.
My only regret is I didn't take a photo of the goodness.
It was that good.
Leaky Potatoe Soup and FRESH bread.
Delicious.

It's June 1st!

Holy Macaroni-where did May go?
I really don't believe it is June..did Mother Nature miss the memo??
It is so cold and chilly all the time..I believe she needs to wake up and turn on the heat!

So June 1st..means it is time for my first Guest DT challenge at Skrap n' Chat!
Here is the layout I did for it..you have to visit the site to see the challenge {grin} Omg..this paper is so busy..it blows my mind..I love it!
The birds are so stinking cute!
I have grown from hating the dingle ball trim because it reminded me the stuff people had hanging in their cars back in the day & it is so lumpy..but hell ya..it is cute..I love it now :-)
SEI Chipboard. 'Nuff said :-)

And I am all about the mini's right now..wallet sized photo's rule :-)
